Goerz, Berlin | Ango 13×18 cm Estimate: €400–500 Year: 1908 Serial No.: 31295 Condition: B- English: Large-format folding press and action camera for 13×18 cm plates, equipped with the celebrated high-speed focal-plane shutter developed by Ottomar Anschütz. The original shutter curtain bears the characteristic red stamp “Ottomar Anschütz, Lissa (Posen).” The Anschütz shutter, licensed to C. P. Goerz, was among the fastest photographic shutters of its time and made the Goerz-Anschütz cameras particularly well-suited for sports, press photography, and other moving subjects. The later strut-folding version with externally adjustable shutter controls was introduced around 1905. Fitted with a Goerz Dagor 6.8/180 mm no. 270141, a classic six-element symmetrical anastigmat of the period. A particularly attractive large-format example, retaining the rare original red Anschütz marking on the shutter curtain.
