Dating from the late 1940s, the Omega ref. 2517 is a fine example of the manufacture’s early chronometer-certified automatic wristwatches. Its calibre 352 features the distinctive bumper winding system, in which an oscillating weight travels through a limited arc, cushioned by springs at either end, as well as Omega’s sophisticated RG precision regulator. Housed in an elegant 18k rose gold case, this reference illustrates the technical achievements and refined design of Omega’s post-war watchmaking, shortly before the introduction of the celebrated Constellation collection in 1952.
