LAFOND - Voyages around the world and famous shipwrecks Paris, Administration de librairie, Pourrat 1844 - Very good in-8 work richly illustrated with 70 plates out of text, including 30 in gummed color. A good copy, complete with the 8 volumes bound in 4 volumes, in uniform period bindings, half-chagrin with ornate spines, overall good condition (slight discoloration, not serious), fairly fresh interior, some foxing. A few sections loose but not missing, complete. The first 2 volumes concern the American continent, volumes 3 to 5 the South China seas and the Indian archipelagos, and the last 3 volumes are devoted to shipwrecks.
