This edition reproduces the intaglio engravings from the original Swiss edition (Bern, 1760) of *Die Eisgebirge des Schweizerlandes*. Complete with the frontispiece, the 18 fold-out engraved plates, a fold-out table explaining the German words and symbols used on the maps, and the 2 beautiful maps. A fine copy in a period full calf binding, with a five-rib spine and richly decorated panels; minor imperfections in the leather of the front cover; interior in fresh condition. In-4, XIV.; 372 pp. Provenance: Mr. de Villeneuve, with a superb ex-libris in gold lettering on the front cover.
