Produced by De Sede (Switzerland), circa 1990. Originally named “Tatzelwurm” in reference to a mythical creature from the Swiss Alps—half-dragon, half-snake—the DS-600 sofa has become the quintessential icon of the Swiss manufacturer De Sede and of 1970s organic design. Considered the ultimate piece of furniture for the grandest villas on the American West Coast, it has graced the interiors of Mike Jagger, Tina Turner, and Lenny Kravitz. It also holds an important place in film and fashion, appearing in both the world of Yves Saint Laurent (Bertrand Bonello’s *Saint Laurent*, 2014) as in the James Bond series (*Die Another Day* with Pierce Brosnan), embodying the perfect aesthetic balance between striking impact and exquisite craftsmanship.
