432 - Vintage Audition Americana Spice Chest novelty radio, housed in a decorative wooden cabinet inspired by traditional American colonial-style spice chests. The cabinet features two hinged louvred doors, two small drawers, a shaped upper gallery with a decorative eagle emblem and a central radio panel illustrated with a horse-drawn carriage scene. The receiver is fitted with a horizontal tuning scale and separate volume and tuning controls. An unusual example of furniture-inspired radio design, combining the appearance of a miniature wooden spice cabinet with a functional radio receiver. Particularly appealing to collectors of vintage novelty radios, decorative radio cabinets and Americana memorabilia. Complete with its original Audition Americana Spice Chest cardboard box. The wooden cabinet shows age-related wear, surface marks and dust accumulation. Minor paint loss and wear are visible around the radio panel, while the original cardboard box shows considerable storage wear, creasing and damage.
