Distinctive vintage 'The Town Crier' AM/FM radio by Guild, designed in the form of an old-fashioned street lantern. The decorative cabinet features a wood-effect finish, fluted sides, an ornamental metal top with carrying ring and a hinged front door. Opening the door reveals the radio's vertical AM/FM tuning scale, rotary controls and an illustrated panel bearing the 'The Town Crier by Guild' name. An unusual example of decorative radio design, combining a traditional lantern-inspired appearance with a concealed radio receiver. Particularly appealing to collectors of Guild radios, vintage electronics and novelty radio cabinets. The cabinet shows visible age-related wear, including surface marks, discolouration and wear to the interior control panel. The top edge of the cabinet appears to have a crack or separation, visible in the photograph. The working condition of the novelty radios has not been verified. Please use the provided photographs to assess their apparent working and visual condition. Dimensions (H x W x D): 55 x 25 x 25 cm. Weight: 5.8 kg. Location: Dutch Auction Company, Tilburg, The Netherlands.
