Manufactured in the 1950s by Guild Radio & Television Corp. of Inglewood, California, "The Country Belle" Model 556 superheterodyne AM tube radio is styled after a classic early 20th-century hand-crank wooden wall telephone. The polished wooden cabinet features an integrated lower notepad shelf, dual brass gongs with an original "Solid Brass Made in U.S.A." label, a cast black-finished transmitter mouthpiece, and a side-hanging earpiece receiver that acts as the power switch when lifted. Tuning is operated via the side hand-crank adjacent to wooden volume and tone control knobs, while the back panel retains its complete original paper schematic diagram and tube location chart. The working condition of the novelty radios has not been verified. Please use the provided photographs to assess their apparent working and visual condition. Dimensions (H x W x D): 47 x 27 x 30 cm.
