Reverse retains a circular paper auction label from Arthur James Galleries, handwritten inventory No. 1235. Materials: Gilt bronze and brass. Cataloger Note: Antique French Empire figural mantel clock featuring a classical female figure in flowing robes holding a floral wreath beside a rectangular clock housing. The stepped pedestal is adorned with decorative wreaths, urn-shaped finials, and a bas-relief plaque depicting winged cherubs supporting a floral garland. Raised on four ornate scrolled foliate feet, the clock features an engine-turned brass dial with Roman numerals and an eight-day mechanical movement with bell strike.
