GUEZENGARD Danièle (1937–2026): “Study of Nudes,” WATERCOLOR and INK on paper mounted on unspecified cardboard. Dimensions: 16.5 x 16.5 cm. Danièle Guézengard lived her entire life in Paris, where she was born in 1937. Upon her retirement, she moved to Quimper with her husband. Out of personal interest, but also in an effort to overcome serious health issues, she took classes at the Beaux-Arts. Painting became for her an urgent need, an overwhelming necessity, bewildering in its abundance and diversity. Her paintings, created with complete freedom, bear witness to her enthusiasm, her doubts, her torments, and her vulnerabilities. She passed away on February 8, 2026.
