Cort, Cornelis Landscape with St. Jerome (Jerome in the Wilderness). Copperplate engraving after Girolamo Muziano. 51.1 x 37.9 cm. 1573. Hollstein 116, Sellink (New Hollstein) 116, probably II (of IV). Marked with a star within a circle (or compass?). As noted by Hollstein, from a seven-sheet series of large landscapes featuring the holy hermits. A magnificent print with a very fine border around the margin; the state of the print cannot be clearly determined due to the missing text margin. Slightly stained, with a few touched-up imperfections, thin spots, and repaired creases and small tears; nevertheless, a very fine copy overall.
