Callot, Jacques Le Parterre de Nancy ou Jardin de Nancy. Etching. 26 x 38.6 cm. 1625. Meaume 622, Lieure 566 I (of II). Before the inscription “Israël Henriets.” An excellent print with a slight plate tone and a narrow margin around the plate edge. Smoothed vertical center fold, with delicate dry creases along it; additional inconspicuous vertical crease marks and one horizontal crease mark on the reverse, a few small rust spots, two of which have been repaired; one of these, at the bottom center, has been retouched with a pen; a small, closed, triangular tear in the building on the left in the background; a small, closed hole in the sky at the center; slightly mottled overall, but the overall impression is very beautiful. From a collection, presumably unidentified to date, labeled “VB in an oval” (not in Lugt). - Please request condition reports for the lots, as the condition is usually not specified in the catalog. - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalog.
