Crouching Nude Study on Flagstone Floor, c. 1950s, original vintage black-and-white gelatin silver print. Dimensions approximately 12" x 10.25". Shot from an evocative high-angle perspective, this intimate artistic study frames a crouching nude female model curled forward with her head nestled in her arms, letting her long, dark wavy hair cascade over her knee. The composition is set within an interior patio or sunroom, beautifully capturing the geometric play of natural window light across the irregular patterns of a stone flagstone floor and a rustic flagstone bench structure. The tight framing masterfully emphasizes the elegant, muscular contours of the model's spine and shoulders, contrasting her soft skin with the hard, cool texture of the natural stone. ANDRE DE DIENES Vintage Photo 1950s-1960s Nude Study The reverse of the photograph features a prominent, crisp red-ink oval studio stamp providing absolute provenance: "PHOTO ANDRE DE DIENES — 1401 SUNSET PLAZA DRIVE — HOLLYWOOD 46, CALIFORNIA — CRESTVIEW 6-4320" along with a red-ink reproduction restriction stamp. The reverse is heavily detailed with extensive European publication and layout markings, including a boxed metric crop measurement ("20,8 x 22 cm"), a hand-drawn pencil layout scale (17.5 cm.), crop alignment arrows, and a handwritten German production instruction at the bottom reading: "Bitte beim ätzen darauf achten dass die Zeichnung im Körper eher etwas aufgehellt wird." (Please make sure during etching that the detail in the body is slightly lightened). It also features handwritten archive reference tracking codes (899a / 9), a circled blue layout sequence marker (130), a red pencil layout code (13/4), and a lower-left collection indicator (126).
