Original vintage black-and-white gelatin silver press photograph capturing an early-season training session of the United States Military Academy (Army West Point) football team, dated September 1925. The image documents an array of Cadets executing a rugged line drill on a vintage wooden "bucking machine" charging apparatus under the close supervision of line coach Lieutenant Lawrence "Biff" Jones. The front of the photograph features prominent, authentic newsroom grease pencil crop lines and an etched rounded-corner framing outline marking it for paper publication. The reverse of the photograph bears an attached brown paper news slug reading: "EXCLUSIVE PHOTO. WEST POINT FOOTBALL TEAM OUT FOR FIRST PRACTICE. West Point football candidates start right in with hard work. Linemen given their first taste of the bucking machine. Lt. Jones, line coach, is watching them." The reverse is prominently stamped with a large blue ink property stamp from "Photograms, 129 E. 27th St., N.Y.C." and an archive stamp from the Newspaper Enterprise Association (N.E.A.) Reference Department dated "SEP 16 1925", alongside editorial grease markings (713). Medium: Original vintage silver gelatin press photograph Provenance: From the inventories of Artelisted.
