History and Description of the Château d’Anet from the Tenth Century to the Present Day, Preceded by a Note on the Town of Anet, Concluded with a Chronological Summary of All the Lords Who Have Dwelt in the Château and Its Owners, and Containing a Study on Diane de Poitiers. Paris: D. Jouaust, 1875. Small folio, red morocco leather, wide border of gilt fillets and red and green mosaic bands adorning the covers with monograms and an emblem, smooth spine decorated with the same design featuring lilies and crescents, gilt edges, ivory vellum lining with mosaic decoration, original illustrated cover preserved (Chatelin.). Numerous plates, some in color and/or spread across two pages. Stains, but undoubtedly THE FINEST KNOWN COPY BOUND IN MOSAIC-PATTERNED MOROCCAN LEATHER IN THE STYLE OF THE 16TH CENTURY, WITH THE EMBLEM AND MONOGRAMS OF HENRY II AND DIANE DE POITIERS.
