In-4°, plum-colored half-shagreen with corner pieces, gilt fillet bordering the covers, decorated ribbed spine, gilt head, untrimmed, original color-illustrated cover preserved (contemporary binding). FIRST EDITION & FIRST PRINTING. A portrait of Leopold of Baden engraved by LÉVY after SANDOZ, an engraved and colored map of the Duchy of Baden, twelve plates of views engraved on steel, six plates of costumes lithographed in color on a tinted background, & numerous vignettes in the text, by JOHANNOT, LAMI, FRANÇAIS & JAQUEMOT.
