André Hogommat (1925–2015) The Thinker Bronze with brown patina Signed “HOGOMMAT” Numbered “8/8” H. 32 cm A native of Nantes, André Hogommat studied in Marcel Gimond’s studio at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1949 to 1952. He subsequently participated actively in numerous prestigious exhibitions, notably the “Formes humaines” Biennial held at the Rodin Museum, as well as the Salon des Prix Nationaux et Boursiers de l’État. In the post-industrial context of the 1970s, the artist sought to place the human figure back at the heart of his artistic practice by translating “essential rhythms” into a personal and sensitive language.
