RENÉ HERBST (1891–1982) Modernist dining table with a rectangular okoumé top covered in gray faux leather, resting on a sinusoidal base made of chrome-plated tubular metal. 120 cm x 65 cm, height 74 cm. Model exhibited at the 1931 Salon d’Automne. Traces of oxidation on the base and a tear in the non-original vinyl. Bibliography: Le Décor d’Aujourd’hui magazine, No. 35, 1946; the model is reproduced in an article about the interior designer on page 39.
