New, corrected, and expanded edition, in Lamonnerie’s translation. It is illustrated with two fold-out charts (the alphabet and a table showing the flow of the elements...). The author, an Italian poet known by the anagram Marcel Palingène, was accused of witchcraft after his death: on the orders of the Inquisition, his body was exhumed and burned. In his *Zodiac*, he had the courage to address the dissolute lives of the monks of his time and the arrogant pretensions of the Pope (Dorbon). (Caillet, no. 7097; Dorbon, no. 2930.)
