70 - BINDING. — Empty binding in red morocco leather bearing the coat of arms and monogram of Jacques-Auguste de Thou and his second wife, Gasparde de La Chastre (OHR, pl. 216, die no. 7), folio format, formerly housing a work on the history of the Franks (on the spine, abbreviated title: *Corpus Franc. Hist. M. Fren.*). Handwritten call number “Soubise” and bookplates from the Froissard (partially torn) and Poidebard (of Lyon) libraries on the upper inside cover. Slight scuffing along the raised bands; the last panel is torn and hanging by a thread.
