BINDING. — Canones Concilii provincialis Coloniensis anno celebrati 1536. Paris, Guillaume Cavellat, 1550. 3 parts in one in-8 volume, fawn calfskin, richly decorated with fillets, interlacing, and fleurons on the covers, partly highlighted with red, white, and black wax, coat of arms in the center, two chiseled clasps, spine decorated with a repeating fleur-de-lis, gilt edges (contemporary binding). The binding decoration is similar to that of a binding executed by Jean Picard for the bibliophile Grolier in the mid-1540s, which covers a copy of Filippo Beroaldo’s *Opuscula* (1508) held at the BnF. The coat of arms in the center, of unknown origin, is of later date. The volume has been trimmed. Ex-libris label of P. Antonio Bravin. Wet stamp on the title page from the Venetian library of Francesco Allavigna. Light, uniform foxing on a few quires. Two flyleaves at the beginning of the second part (Enchiridion...) were mistakenly moved to the end of the volume. The binding decoration has been retouched and regilded in places. One clasp has been replaced. The hinges and cap bands have been restored, but show new cracks and tears.
