HORTULUS ANIME, by Selen Würtgarden, with many beautiful illustrations and figures. No place, no date [Nuremberg, Friderich Peypus for Johann Koberger, 1518]. In-8, brown calfskin cold-stamped on board, double fillet binding, fleurons in the corners, medallion in the center (a Crucifixion can be seen on the second cover), clasps, ribbed spine, dark edges (contemporary binding). A very rare edition of this Low German version of the famous *Hortulus animae*. Its collation corresponds to that of a 1518 Nuremberg edition, of which only one other copy is listed in the USTC under no. 664212. Printed in red and black Gothic type, with the text surrounded by borders of various designs, it is adorned with numerous woodcuts within the text, several of which are signed with the monogram of Hans Springinklee. An incomplete copy consisting of 12 leaves, including the colophon, which have been replaced here with blank leaves. The title page is slightly soiled; there is water staining and light foxing on a few leaves. The binding has been restored (hinges), and the clasps have been replaced.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
