HOURS. — [Hours for Use in Rome]. No place, no date [in the colophon]: Paris, Thielman Kerver, April 10, 1500. Gothic 8vo, 105 (of 120) leaves, unbound, modern slipcase. An extremely rare incunabulum edition (following the old Easter calendar) printed by Kerver. (GW, 13110; Lacombe, no. 102.) The GW lists only 4 copies in public institutions. This copy, printed on vellum and red-lettered, is incomplete by 15 leaves: it includes the figure of the anatomical man (illegible) and 13 other beautiful figures, not to mention the numerous woodcuts that form the borders of the text. The volume appears to have been saved from destruction and no longer has a binding: there are burn marks and yellowish and brownish stains of varying severity throughout the volume, with the first 25 folios and the last 2 being particularly badly affected.
