EXPOSITIO SEQUENTIARUM. Walk with the good. Death is the worst fate for sinners. Use what is yours so that you do not need what belongs to others. S.l. [Paris, Jean Seurre], n.d. [in the colophon]: March 8, 1512. Gothic in-8, unbound. Extremely rare Parisian edition of this sequentiary (a collection of Roman Catholic liturgy), of which only two copies are listed in the CCFr (Paris, Sorbonne; Lyon Public Library). (Moreau, vol. II, no. 452.) Printed in two sizes of Gothic type, with a woodcut depicting the Annunciation on the title page and Jean Seurre’s printer’s mark on the verso of the last leaf (see Renouard, no. 1042). Few books are known to have come from the presses of Jean Seurre, also known as Jean de la Pie (Pica), a printer active in Paris from approximately 1503 to 1513. Paper is missing from the margins of the last four leaves; the first quire and the last leaf are detached. Slight water stains.
