BIBLE. — Figures from the Bible, illustrated with French octets, for their interpretation and understanding. Lyon, Guillaume Rouille, 1565. In-8, modern vellum. Reprint of the original edition published the previous year, illustrated with 269 woodcut vignettes attributed to Pierre Vase. The eight-line verses were composed by Guillaume Guéroult. (Baudrier, vol. IX, p. 302.) Old handwritten captions beneath some of the engravings. From the Étienne Cluzel Library. The title page from the original 18th-century binding has been preserved and pasted to the upper endpaper. Missing the last (blank) leaf. A tear with no loss in the engraving on folio G3; a loss of paper at the bottom of folio T1 affecting the first letters. Stains. Repairs at the top of the folios in the second half of the volume, with the running title words of the last 27 folios rewritten in ink.
