Letters from Germany: An interesting album featuring items from Old Germany—primarily Baden—covering the period from the German Empire to the French Zone in Baden. Baden: mostly single-stamp covers, often with letter contents, e.g., the Freiburg firm Kuenzer or, in one instance, Elisa von Rotteck (unfortunately, some of the letters are not dated). French Zone of Baden: Mixed postage. Min. 38A–41A and 42A–45A. Braunschweig: Min. 9. Hamburg: Min. 8b and 8f. German Reich: Three items from the Zeppelin Polar Expedition of 1931 (Minr. 457 and 2 x 458). Third Reich: Mixed-stamped 909/910 with Richter’s examiner’s stamp. Last but not least, there is a Swiss letter cover, possibly the more expensive Munich print 14I (please examine this as well). The Michel value of the album is probably around 8,000 euros (excluding the aforementioned Swiss cover).
