ESPELT Mithé (1923–2020). Square mirror. Blue stamped earthenware piece. H: 23.5 cm. – W: 23.5 cm. At the end of World War II, Mithé Espelt moved to Paris, where she worked in Nathalie Pol’s ceramic button workshop in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood. However, she returned to Lunel in 1946 to care for her younger sisters. There, she opened her own ceramics studio, where she crafted jewelry, boxes, and mirrors, which she sold in galleries throughout the region as well as in Martinique.
