Anton Josef Storch-Alberti 1892 Verona – 1978 Vienna Flims with the Flimserstein (Graubünden) Oil on canvas Signed lower left: A. Storch-Alberti. Titled on the reverse of the stretcher Framed 53 × 73 cm This painting depicts the village of Flims against the imposing rock face of the Flimserstein. Giovanni Giacometti had already explored this landscape in 1904 in his monumental “Flimser Panorama,” which was commissioned by the Hotel Waldhaus. While Giacometti brought the mountain world together into a sweeping panoramic composition, Storch-Alberti focuses on the interplay between the village settlement and the mighty mountain massif. The bold color contrasts and lively brushwork lend his depiction an expressive character. In 1937, Storch-Alberti also exhibited in Flims. Auction Date: November 28, 2026 Approximate Auction Time: 5:55 p.m. CET
