Four Scenic Panels Basel (?), Neoclassicism, ca. 1810. Paper cutouts and watercolor paintings set against a background that curves toward the back. The four individual panels depict the seasons of spring, summer, fall, and winter. Against a watercolor background, the figures, trees, pavilion, and an entire cornfield—all cut out of paper and painted in a naturalistic style—are arranged to create a three-dimensional effect. Each of the four pictures is set in an original wooden frame in the Neoclassical style. Slight signs of age and wear. This type of backdrop painting represents an early form of the dioramas that were popular in the 19th century. Width 48 cm, Height 37 cm Auction start date: November 25, 2026 Approximate auction start time: 6:02 p.m. CET
