14 - Highly Important and Fine German 18th Century "Frederick Augustus I King of Saxony" Succession Toasting Goblet, c.1763, with deep funnel shaped bowl, with an exquisitely and finely detailed engraved armorial for Frederick Christian (1722- 1763) Elector of Saxony to one side and monogram F.A.C for Frederick Augustus I for Elector of Saxony later becoming known as becoming first king in Saxony 1806 with lines of script to the upper lip translating to blessing elector of Saxony, on a knop and Silesian stem with trapped air bubble raised on circular foot engraved with foliate motifs, height 24.5cm Note: Frederick Augustus I (1750–1827) was Frederick Christian’s eldest son and immediate successor.
