Large, decorative bronze sculpture by an Orientalist Berber artist. 19th century. Patinated bronze cast using the lost-wax method. Dimensions: 66 cm x 25 cm x 23 cm. This round sculpture depicts a standing male figure, dressed in a tunic, turban, and sash, in a dynamic pose. The bearded face, the articulated body posture, and the sideways gaze convey expression and movement. The figure stands on a base decorated with openwork geometric motifs, reminiscent of an architectural column. This piece is part of the 19th-century Orientalist movement, which idealized the Arab world through exoticism and detailed clothing. The bronze’s matte finish and the figure’s gestures emphasize its sculptural quality. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
