Pair of Candelabras in German Meissen Porcelain, 19th Century. Molded and polychrome porcelain with floral appliqués in relief. Dimensions: height 52 cm x width 20 cm x depth 20 cm. Each candlestick is crowned by a floral tulip and held by a gallant figure: a gentleman and lady dressed in richly decorated 18th-century costumes, holding baskets of flowers and displaying graceful expressions and a courtly demeanor. The bases feature white and gold rocailles, enriched with multicolored floral details. The craftsmanship reveals meticulous attention to detail in the faces, the pleats of the dresses, and the floral embellishments—characteristic of Volkstedt’s work. The expressive modeling and vibrant colors are reminiscent of late German Rococo style, influenced by Meissen porcelain. Representative of 19th-century German decorative art, they are notable for their technical refinement and courtly symbolism. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
Delivery is optional. You can use the carrier of your choice. The stated price does not include the lot price or the auction house fees.
