Large French Gilded Mirror Frame. French School. 19th Century Carved and water-gilded wood. Dimensions: 125 cm x 91 cm; total 155 cm x 121 cm. It features rich ornamentation of acanthus leaves, flowers, cartouches, and scrolls, carefully arranged on a wide, deep profile. The gilding, with its warm, luminous tone, accentuates the volumes and reliefs, evoking the splendor of French Second Empire frames. Its decorative composition reflects the 19th-century Neo-Baroque style, in which magnificence and theatricality are woven into the art of framing. Ideal for paintings or large-format mirrors. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous repairs. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
