18th-Century Hispano-Flemish School - Adoration of the Shepherds Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 152 x 92 cm. Based on Rubens’s *The Adoration of the Magi*, currently in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Marseille, this work is possibly attributed to one of his followers. It depicts the Nativity with Mary holding the Child in the center, surrounded by shepherds and adoring female figures. The pyramidal composition features a dramatic interplay of light, reminiscent of Flemish Baroque aesthetics. The work features expressive color and exquisite rendering of fabrics. Signed with an anagram in the lower right corner. An 18th-century copy of an earlier work. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
