Two-section writing desk. European School. 18th century. Walnut wood with marquetry and metal fittings. Dimensions: 245 x 99 x 51 cm. An 18th-century two-section bureau, designed as a folding desk in the lower section and a glass-fronted display case in the upper section. The upper section is topped with a curved, split pediment framed by ornamental details and turned finials. The lower section features large drawers with openwork metal handles, characteristic of the late Baroque and Rococo styles. The piece combines practical functionality with a refined decorative style, characteristic of the European centers where this type of furniture first gained prominence in libraries and offices. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
