18th-Century French School - Sculpture of the Virgin and Child Carved and polychromed wood. Dimensions: 67 × 27 × 13 cm. Devotional sculpture depicting the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus, made in southern France during the 18th century. The figure retains traces of its original polychromy in shades of blue, a symbol of Marian purity and royalty. With its delicate modeling and serene expression, this piece reflects the spirituality and elegance of French religious imagery from the late Baroque period. The work is complete, with a beautiful patina of age. Provenance: private collection. Lot located in an international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU. An export permit from the country of origin may be required. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
