Painted corner cabinet. Italy. 18th century. Hanging corner cabinet, made of polychrome wood. The piece consists of two sections: an open upper section with two shelves and floral decoration on a vermilion red background, and a closed lower section with doors decorated with landscapes and naturalistic motifs. The unit is finished with hand-painted wavy cresting. This corner cabinet combines functionality and decoration, typical of New Spain furniture, influenced by the popular Baroque aesthetic and the viceregal taste for pictorial compositions applied to furniture. The polychrome work reveals a meticulous technique and an interest in integrating art into everyday objects. Dimensions: 94 x 45 x 30 cm.
