“The Music Director” sculpture in patinated corrugated iron. French School. 19th century. Patinated corrugated iron on a circular wooden base. Dimensions: 39 x 15 x 15 cm. It depicts a young female conductor or musician in a dynamic pose, baton in hand and with a focused gaze. The work combines feminine grace with rhythmic energy, highlighting the flowing folds of the dress and the detailed modeling of the hands. Its style belongs to late French Romanticism, which idealized the female figure as a symbol of sensitivity and artistry. This type of sculpture was widely produced in the second half of the 19th century, intended to embellish cultured domestic interiors. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed.
