Christ Assisted by the Angel - BASSANO CIRCLE - 17TH CENTURY Oil on canvas. Measures 59 x 66 cm. Christ is depicted kneeling in contemplation as an angel offers him the chalice, accompanied by celestial figures amidst clouds and a halo of light. The strong contrast of light and the ascending arrangement of the figures reinforce the mystical character of the scene. The work reflects the spirituality and devotional language characteristic of 17th-century Baroque painting. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
