752 - Female Nude, Signed Santiago de Santiago Hernández, Spanish School, 20th Century

Female Nude, Signed Santiago de Santiago Hernández, Spanish School, 20th Century Bronze sculpture with a dark patina. Measures 28 x 55 x 17 cm. A nude female figure seated on a tree trunk, depicted with a serene and contemplative expression, her head slightly raised and her anatomy stylized. The composition is notable for the verticality of the body, the elegant simplification of the forms, and the contrast between the smoothness of the nude figure and the rougher texture of the base. The patinated surface enhances the volumes and underscores a modern sensibility rooted in Symbolism and Classicism—characteristic of 20th-century Spanish sculpture—which emphasizes formal balance and idealized beauty.
