Exceptional Grand Tour Cup in Red Marble, Modeled After the Vatican Original, 19th Century 31 cm high x 49.5 cm in diameter. Red marble. A large, classic goblet made in Verona in the mid-19th century, carved from a single piece with a base, stem, and cup of monumental proportions. The stone, with its reddish hue and white veins, creates a chromatic effect of great nobility and decorative richness. The classically inspired silhouette, featuring a gently flared profile and a molded upper rim, draws on the tradition of luxurious Roman kraters and goblets. The polished surface highlights the quality of the material and its elaborate craftsmanship. This piece embodies the historicist and neoclassical taste of the 19th century, intended both for aesthetic contemplation and to enrich stately architectural spaces. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
