GABON Kota Obamba-style reliquary Brass sheets and strips over a thick wooden core. The wood is eroded on the back, the upper part of the reliquary, and on the front and back of the low triangular stand, which rests on the reliquary’s basket. The ancestral altar consisted of three reliquaries featuring one male figure and two female figures. The convex-shaped reliquary represents the male figure. The concave shapes represent the female figures. This reliquary therefore represents the male ancestor of the family or clan. H.: 81 cm – W.: 38 cm – Thickness: 11 cm
