QUINAULT, KNOWN AS "LA CADETTE," Jeanne - Françoise [Strasbourg, October 13, 1699], French actress. Autograph letter addressed to Mme de Graffigny, a friend of Voltaire’s and author of *Letters from a Peruvian Woman*. 2 pages, in-4° format, with address. She writes to Mme de Graffigny, who had been criticized regarding her work: “Rest assured, madam, that the author of the criticism… had only read the titles. Since your work is not yet finished, they were able to give them to him [...] an even truer reason is that it is a whim of the count [...] it merely seems to me that there are quite a few errors in the printing, especially in the punctuation.”
