CHARLIE CHAPLIN Around the Tramp… , 1920s–1930s. Set of 5 vintage items: two small posters from the Palace Movie Theater in Charleville (advertising “Cirque” and “Charlot Plays Carmen,” respectively), two cards (including a promotional card with a perforated strip), and a photograph—a vintage silver print (1936), stamped on the back (taken from the film “Modern Times”). 14 x 9 cm to 34.5 x 14.2 cm. Fold marks on the small posters. Note: This lot retains the evocative power of the printed materials that helped spread the ideas and images of their era. A prime piece to enrich a collection dedicated to 20th-century arts and documents.
