Gilded bronze clock with a double dial (front and back) supported by a figure of a child resting on a circular base, the front dial, inscribed “Breguet,” displaying the hours and minutes as well as a rate adjustment scale graduated from 0 to 10, while the rear dial displays the date of the month (the numerals are inscribed so they can be read in the reflection of the fireplace on which the clock is to be placed); (possibly with an original counter-base). Attributed to the Thomire workshop. Restoration period Height: 47 cm Bibliographic reference: - Tardy, *La pendule française, du Louis XVI à nos jours*, Paris, 1962, p. 191. Tardy’s book features a similar clock by Breguet (with a patinated bronze child resting on a base) and, in this context, cites the Breguet archives, noting that the bronze was crafted by Thomire.
