Allen & Co., 1886. *** Written in 1873-74, Taubatu-n-Nasûh has been described as the seminal work of Urdu novelist, social and religious reformer Nazir Ahmad (1830-1912). An English translation of the text by Kempson was published in 1884, but without the reproduction of the original text, or index and notes provided in the present edition. In the preface, Kempson notes its adoption as a prescribed text for Indian Civil Service probationers. Rare at auction.
