From 2 x 1.5 cm to 7.5 x 5 cm; Cork binding: 12.5 x 7.5 cm (n.c., cut-out portion of 2 title pages supplied in pen as a facsimile at the time). Contemporary leather, except for 2 in original brocade paper wrappers (some minor defects, as noted). 3 vols. in original slipcase. Charming set. 17th cent.: Kempis, Th. a - *De imitatione Christi* [...]. Venice, Turrini, 1650. (Spine renewed, one clasp strap missing). - 18th c.: 7 vols., incl. "Die Freude über den Frieden" (n.p., n.p., 1763; clasp strap missing),- "L'office de la très-glorieuse vierge Marie [...] (Lille, Danel, 1777),- “Hand Kalender auf das Jahr Jesu Christi 1790” (Leipzig, Schreiber, [1790], original repoussé calf case decorated with the coat of arms and portrait of Duke Frederick Augustus of Saxony), Liège silk binding embroidered in gold thread and sequins with the coat of arms of the Pálffy family (Hungary) on a confraternity manual for the Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (German version, Stembert, Lejeune, 1781; formerly owned by Carolina Schillings), etc. - 19th century: 4 vols., published in Paris by Janet (1) and Marcilly (3), one housed in a book-shaped case, creating an amusing “book-within-a-book” effect.
