1102 - [MARTIN, David]. History of the Old and New Testaments, illustrated with more than four hundred engravings, &c. [...]. Amsterdam: P. Mortier, 1700, 2 vols., in-f°: [16, including engraved title page]–282–[8] pp., 141 ill. and 2 maps; [24, including engraved title page]-154-20 pp., 73 half-titles and 3 maps (small gallery of engravings at the end of vol. Contemporary calfskin, covers set with gilt scrolls (Greek fret and chain motif), spines with gilt floral decorations on raised bands and burgundy and green leather labels with a central red medallion, on the edges, gilt edges (numerous scratches and large scuffs on the covers, rounded corners, spine slightly soiled with visible restoration, joints split in Vol. I and rubbed in Vol. II, heavy creases on the endpapers). The text of Volume II is embellished with headpieces, initials, and 28 large tailpieces and includes the plate printed “with the nails” (II-145). Ref. Tenschert, *Biblia Sacra*, no. 101. - Cohen 489–491 (erroneously counts 75 plates in Volume II). - Lewine 240. - Reynaud 236. - Not listed in Darlow-Moule, Renier, or Poortman & Augusteijn, *Kaarten in Bijbels*.
