Van Keulen [18th c.], engr., 27.5 x 48 cm, hand-colored (some small pieces of tape and small spots on the black edges). First published in the 6th part of the "De Nieuwe Groote Ligtende Zee-Fakkel," containing the charts concerning navigation in East Asian waters, which for a long time required a certain degree of secrecy. In 1753, maps from the so-called “Secret Atlas of the V.O.C.” were finally published in print. This map depicts the Penghu (Pescadores) Islands in the Taiwan Strait. Ref. Koeman IV Keu [385].
