Saint-Lô 1872, 1875, 1877, 1–2 pp., on two in-12 sheets of laid paper, including 1 mourning sheet and 3 sheets with the watermark “Original Turkey Mill Kent” (creases from mailing). Concerns his subscription to “L’Indépendance belge” (March 18, 1872), the publication in the newspaper of his novel “Un mariage dans le monde” (September 7 and 24, 1875), which was then being serialized in the “Revue des Deux Mondes,” and the impossibility of continuing the republication of his novels by “L’Indépendance belge,” as the publisher Lévy had opposed it (July 22, 1877).
